MY REVIEW:
Flying Without Wings is a contemporary romance novel set in Chandigarh, India. The story revolves around Milli, the hard-working girl next door who hails from a middle class family and Karan the rich and handsome guy who has had his fair share of dishonest relationships. They encounter each other on an online dating app and hit it off immediately. What follows is the tale of two people from diverse backgrounds crossing hurdles to be together.

“The monsters of the real world were far more dangerous than those in print.”

What I enjoyed most about this book was the author’s descriptions of the settings of the book. The characters were also a strong point for the book, they felt realistic and believable. Although while I enjoyed the author’s simple writing style and his overall idea of two diverse individuals coming together, what I didn’t appreciate was how unrealistic and cheesy certain parts of the book were and how in those moments I felt like I was reading a script of a Bollywood movie rather than an actual book. Some scenes felt dragged out and unnecessary. The plot was pretty much predictable but that in a way made it easier to read the book. Overall, I think this book had a better potential to be something more than what it turned out to be.
Pick it up if you enjoy cheesy romances or are looking for an easy read to get out of a reading slump.

Oooooh, wow. This one sounds like fairly standard/straightforward romance plot (so wasn’t surprised to read you think it was cheesy hahaha), but in such an amazing setting! I think it might be worth checking out for that alone, hmmm… thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! 😉
